He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Peggy" and Olga Phillips (Mudzik); and his siblings, Ann Giovannini, Patricia Ceprish, Joseph, Thomas and Robert "Bubba" Phillips.
He is survived by: his son Matthew Phillips (Desiree); his granddaughter Mila Phillips; and his brother Ronald Phillips (Ceil). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
