He was predeceased by: his parents, George J. Apgar and Helen Apgar (Prendinger). He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Apgar (Loven); his sons, David, Mark (Deborah) and Matthew; his stepchildren, Steven Hartley (Debbie) and Lisa Hartley-Bartenbach (Joseph); and his siblings, George (Betty) and Betty Scott. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to any veterans organization.
