She was predeceased by: her husband Layton Smale; her parents, Frank Brands and Florence Brands (Mabus); and her daughter Betty Melone. She is survived by: her children, Lori Halloran of Stroudsburg, Donald Smale of Kunkletown and Kevin Smale of Kunkletown; and her sister Barbara Ziegenfus of Saylorsburg. She is also survived by three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
