She was predeceased by: her husband James W. "Jim" Mackes Jr.; her parents, Norwood R. Kern and Magdalene Kern (Schmidt); and her brother Daniel Kern. She is survived by: her children, James W. Mackes III (Kate Landers) of Tampa, FL, Candace McMaster (Ron) of Easton and Jillian Mackes-Sheckler (Jason Green) of Palmerton; her grandchildren, Allyson McMaster, John McMaster and Nevella Sheckler; and her pets, Chloe, Lilykins and Nittany.
