He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Tavern, and Marion Tavern, Sr. (Pietrandrea). He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Ginny" L. Tavern (Ferrigno); his daughters, Tiffany Wayne (John) and Tonya Tavern; and his grandsons, Bryce, Colton Wayne and Tyler Knox.
