He was predeceased by: his parents, Lily Howard and John Howard Jr.; his brother John Howard III; his sister-in-law Barb Howard; and his nephews, Billy and Ricky Howard.

He is survived by: his brother Big; his wife Marion Howard; his daughters, Kimberly Howard (Heather), Pamela Petrucci (Vince) and Tracy Carr (Gary); his stepson Brent Merwin (Marlo); his grandchildren, Breanna, Trevor Petrucci, Kaitlyn, Dylan Carr, Brandon Merwin (Ashley) and Blake Merwin (Kaylee); his siblings, Bill Howard and Donna Buck (Oran); his sister-in-law Agnes Howard; and his daughter Joanne Rock. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
