He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ernest and Emily Smith, Sr. (Merrick); his wife Evelyn; and his children, Jo-Lyn Leese, Uleta (Mitch Clark), Bella Owens (Rick Lamphere), Shawn Smith (Jodi Fillmore) and Lori (Shawn Lewis). He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
