He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Gibson and Hazel Piper Gibson; his daughter Karen Sue Gibson; and his sisters, Joanne and Delores Chadman (Woody).
He is survived by: his wife Joan Rex; his children, James R. Gibson (Sharon) of Turkey City, Marvin L. "Skip" Gibson, Jr. (April) of Knox and Beth A. Sherry (Lee) of Knox; his grandchildren, James J. Gibson (Stacey) of Turkey City, Jennifer A. Elslager (Nick) of Knox, Dana L. Sherry (Amanda) of Nickleville, Allicia J. Shaw (Josh) of Crown and Daniel M. Sherry (Audrey) of Kansas City, Missouri.; his sister Helen Amsler (Dick) of Texas; and his great grandchildren, Brenton, Cadien Gibson, Nate Elslager, Nichole, Mackenna, Rayanne Sherry, Autumn, Hannah, Shawn Shaw, Gavin, Iris, Collin and Riley Sherry.
