He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Best and Sarah Eisenhuth Best; his sons, John "Woody" Best and Jade; his stepdaughter Rhonda Thompson; and his siblings, Homer "Jack" Best, Jr., Charlie Best and Wanda Brosious.
He is survived by: his wife Alberta Huey; his former wife Kathleen Wade Quinn of Strattanville; his children, Joel Best (Ginny) of Knox, Jeremy Best, Stacy of Fisher, Deni Best, Casey of Emlenton and Sara Berberich (Bill) of Lower Burrell; and his siblings, Bill Best, Jane Burns, Kate Thomas, Betty Huffman and Peggy Brannen. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
