It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Francis George of Knox, Pennsylvania, born in Sligo, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 20, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer B. George and Ethel Jenny Reed George; his wife Joan Bauer; and his siblings, Thelma Burns, Dorothy Harkins, Evelyn O'Neil, C. Donald George, Harold George and Allen George.
He is survived by: his children, Linda McCoy (Tom) of Knox, Brenda Reed (John) of Indianapolis and Bruce George (Renie) of Saratoga Springs; his grandchildren, Kristen O'Dell Putman (Cody) of Clifton Park, Jason Reed (Kara) of Fishers, Indiana, Matthew McCoy (Amy) of Kennerdell, Kristin Hurrelbrink (Brad) of Emlenton, David McCoy (Lauren) of Knox, Christopher Simpson of Vermont and Jennifer Simpson of Texas; his great grandchildren, Tavin O'Dell, Naomi Reed, Kendra McCoy, Marissa McCoy, Madison Hurrelbrink and Allison Hurrelbrink; his sister Maxine Coast of Arizona; his sister-in-law Alma Bauer of Indiana; and his close friend Kay Emrick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that facemasks be worn and in order to comply with the current Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines set by the Pennsylvania governor, social distancing is strongly suggested.
