He is survived by: his sons, Chester Edward Carpenter, John Dudley Carpenter, Richard Dean Carpenter, Patrick Ellis Carpenter, Brian Scott Carpenter and David Brennan Carpenter; and his siblings, John Carpenter, Ruth Ann Link, Myron Burt Carpenter and Barbara. He is also survived by his sons, and their families and six grandchildren.
