He was predeceased by: his former wife Nancy E. Shay; his great grandchild Carson Elaine Shay; and his brothers, William, Clair and Daryl Shay.
He is survived by: his children, Steven H. Shay of Cowansville, Scott P. Shay (Amy) of Cowansville and Marcy L. Harkleroad (Lee) of Kittanning; his brother Paul C. Shay of Kittanning; his grandchildren, Brittany Hetrick, Matthew Shay, Amanda Shay, Andrea Shay, Mackenzie Shay, Dakota Harkleroad and Shelbee Harkleroad; his great grandchildren, Camryn Hetrick and Colton Shay; and his close friend Joanne Cornman of Kittanning.
