He was predeceased by: his father James W. Shirley. He is survived by: his mother Kathleen Shirley (Toy); his sons, James, Jr. Shirley (Debbie) and Jared Shirley (Rachel); his grandchildren, Alex Shirley, Lyndsay Shirley, Carter Shirley and Calvin Shirley; and his siblings, John Shirley (Brenda), Joseph Shirley, Mary Shirley, Danny Shirley (Cindy), Alan Shirley (Annette) and Kimberley Shirley (Nick). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
