She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Kenneth McElroy and Florence Kamerer McElroy; and her spouse Donnell G. Hiwiller. She is survived by: her caregiver Dolores; her pets, Fred and Tiny Little; her uncle Boyd McElroy; her daughters, Karen King, PsyD (Raymond Edward) and Sue Shirey, RN; her grandchildren, Jesse (Jessica), Emily (Gene), Lindsay Kloepping (Mark) and Jordan King (Caitlin); her great grandchildren, Grady, Sophia, Stella, Colton Shirey, Jeb, Libby, Cameron Rapp, Noah, Lia Kloepping, Maris and Stellan King; her sister-in-law Patricia Hiwiller Reimer; her nieces, Amy Weibel and Laurie Lisanti (Jerry); her nephew Dann Weibel (Cheryl); and her aunt Ruby Kamerer. She is also survived by her husband, her parents, her grandparents, her brother.
