He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Gotfrids and Marta Mednis (Zalte); and his brother Alfons. He is survived by: his spouse Maija Mednis (Karklis); his children, Laila Mednis (Ugis Nigals) of Kintnersville, Vidvuds Mednis of Kintnersville and Laima Howell (Dean) of Cold Spring, NY; his grandchildren, Imanta Nigale (Krisjanis Sils), Didzis Nigals, Maris and Jakob Howell; and his great grandchild Talis Sils.
