She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph P. "Kayo" Valent; her parents, Ivan Darkes and Helen Darkes (Steigerwalt); her brother Kenneth Darkes; and her grandson Benjamin Frantz.
She is survived by: her children, Cathy Turcmanovich (John) of Lansford, Nancy Matsick (Michael) of Coopersburg, Donna Valent of Lansford, Joanne Pepper (George) of Kintnersville and Joseph Valent (Ellen) of Stevens; and her sister Jean Springer of Wilmington, DE. She is also survived by 10 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
