He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew V., Sr. and Eva [Couse] Doppel. He is survived by: his wife Judith Doppel of Kingsley, PA; his children, Christopher Doppel, Andy Doppel, Mary Pearsall of Moravia, NY and Beth Doppel Bailey of Jacksonville, FL; and his stepsons, Chris Esslinger of Kingsley, PA, John Hendriks of Cortland, NY, Ed Hendriks of Ithaca, NY and Eric Hendriks of Ithaca, NY. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.

“I am just seeing Mr. Doppel's obituary. Mr. Doppel is one of a very few special individuals in my life who had a tremendous impact on me. He taught me electronics in Lexington, SC (83-84). I was the only female in the class for a long time and he always made me feel like a "daughter". I last I spoke to him just before 9/11 when he surprised me with a phone call.
