He is survived by: his wife Shelly Ann Oates (Nack); his son Daniel Edward Oates of King; and his siblings, Patrick Oates of Clearwater, FL, David Oates of Largo, FL and Elizabeth Oates of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
