She was predeceased by: her husband William R. Peters; her parents, Clyde K. Work and Mary Madonna Work; and her son William R. Peters Jr. Shirley. She is survived by: her daughters, Leslie (Douglas Bleggi) of Mechanicsburg, PA and Holly Peters of Kennett Square; and her grandsons, Michael W. Bleggi and Thomas McChesney of Kennett Square.

Also in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley's memory to either The American Indian College Fund or Kennett Friends of Music.
