He is survived by: his wife Sandra Guthrie Whelan; his daughters, Kimberly Kierstead (Justin) and Sherri Donnell; his grandchildren, Jacob, Kailey Kierstead, Zakary, Kole, Sadie and Zoe Donnell; and his siblings, James Whelan, Marcia Randall, Denise Burroughs, Vernon Whelan and Jeffrey Whelan.
