He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Frederick and Marie Jones Hinz; his brothers, Roland (Jack) and James; his wife Joan Herndon Hinz; his children, Betsy Howard (Steve), Richard (Rose Ho), Cathy McNally (Brian) and Gretchen Bartram (Darin); and his grandchildren, Patrick, William, Grace, Mai, Colleen, Michael, Charlie, Jeremy, Abigail, Clara and Edward.
