He was predeceased by: his parents, Alden Chapman and Mary Chapman (Joshnick); and his brother Robert Chapman. He is survived by: his wife Barbara "Ann" Chapman; his children, Shannon Randall (David) of Albion, PA and Ryan Chapman (Molly) of Sheffield, PA.; his grandsons, Ethan Wayne Randall, Jack Chapman and James Chapman; his siblings, John, Dan Chapman, Judy Mickle and Donna Chapman; and his half-sister Kathryn Kielman. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
