It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rowland Proashas (Kane, Pennsylvania), born in Hamlin, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 20, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Proashas and Leora Proashas (Pressler); his spouse Beverly "Jill" Witherow; his grandson Kenneth R. VanGiesen; and his half-brothers, Harry and Lamar Birch.
He is survived by: his daughters, Susan VanGiesen (Thomas) of Kane, Penny Oyler of Kane and Luci Bell (Blair) of Hazelton; his grandchildren, Matt VanGiesen (Heather), Amie Gullifer (Joe), Amber Oyler (Gary), Jennifer Hoats (Greg), David Bell and Erin Sirianni; and his great grandchildren, Courtney, Carly VanGiesen, Isaac, Hannah Gullifer, Rebekah Hoats and Camden Duffley.
