She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Markel and Edna Markel (Hughes); her husband Willard L. Nearhoof; her daughter Peggy Biddle; and her siblings, William L., Ronald and Peggy Markel.
She is survived by: her children, Melanie S. Ekdahl (Douglas) of Stormstown, Duke W. Nearhoof of Tyrone and Scott A. Nearhoof of Grampian; her grandchildren, Adam Biddle, Brandin Walk, Derek Biddle, Jessica Thompson, Blake Ekdahl, Kyle Nearhoof, Shane Ekdahl, Henry Nearhoof and Eliza Nearhoof; and her sister-in-law Cindy Rohland of Lebanon. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
