Lloyd H. Spotts Obituary
Loyd H. Spotts, Jr, 99, of Julian, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 19, 2023, at Centre Care Nursing Center in Bellefonte. Born on April 4, 1924, he was the son of the late Lloyd H. and Julia B. (Hall) Spotts, Sr. On January 11, 1945, he married Harriett Fisher, who passed away on July 2, 2006.
Lloyd attended the Bellefonte Schools. He enlisted in the United State Navy on February 22, 1943, and served during WWII. He received his honorable discharge on December 18, 1945. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon, American Defense Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal for his years of service. After serving in the Navy, Lloyd became a Self-Employed contractor until his retirement.
Lloyd was a member of the Bald Eagle Community Church in Wingate, the Bellefonte VFW Post 1600, the Unionville Grange, and the Centre County Farmers Association.
Lloyd is survived by one son, Gregory Spotts and his wife, Gail, of FL and one daughter in-law, Ruth A Spotts of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Chad Spotts and his wife, Tracy, of MN; Terry Spotts of NC, and Dawn Spotts of NC.
Along with his parents and wife, Lloyd was preceded in death by two sons: Allen T. Spotts and Dennis Spotts; two grandchildren: Darren and Hope: three brothers and four sisters. Lloyd was the last of his generation.
All services will be private. The burial will be at the Centre County Memorial Park in State College, Pennsylvania.
