Atta L. Walk Obituary
Atta L. Walk, 86, of Julian, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home. Born on February 8, 1938, in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Clair and Lena (Marshall) Soliday. On December 25, 1954, in Mahaffey, she married the love of her life, Lester M. "Red" Walk. Red passed away on January 20, 1980.
Atta attended Mahaffey High School. She was an Insurance Clerk for Murata Erie for a short time and then became a co-owner with her husband of Walk's Auto Center. She and Red worked side by side until his death and then their son, Roy, went into partnership with Atta until her retirement. She retired after 40+ years.
Atta was an active member of the Bald Eagle Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a church Deaconess for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of Rebekah Lodge.
She enjoyed traveling, reading books and crafting. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Atta is survived by her daughter, Cathy D. Fisher and her husband, Rick, of Julian: son, Roy L. Walk and his wife, Angela, of State College; six grandchildren: Tracina, Tiffany, Travis, Troy, Christina, and Brandon, and 14 great grandchildren: Cobey, Coen, Cazra, Landon, Carter, Austin, Brooklyn, Dallas, Piper, Talon, Emma, Mya, Sienna, and Clara.
Along with her parents and husband, Atta was preceded in death by one son, Russell A. Walk; one daughter, Alena A. Walk; two brothers and two sisters. She was the last of her generation.
Public viewing will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 6-8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Milesburg, and again on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 10-11am at the Port Matilda Baptist Church, 105 S. Main St, Port Matilda. The funeral service will be held at the church at 11am with Pastor Ben Hoover officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow at Williams Cemetery in Huston Twp.
