He was predeceased by: his wife Norma R. Wenger Royer; his parents, Luke Royer and Joyce Groh Royer; and his brothers, Robert, Jack, Warren and Luke Royer, Jr..

He is survived by: his sons, Jerry L. Royer of Fredericksburg and Larry R. (Lena Royer) of Fredericksburg; his sisters, Lois MacEachern of Rochester, NY and Marilyn Santiago of Rochester, NY; and his grandchildren, Kristi Royer Donmoyer and Jason Royer. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
