He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Thompson and Gersilee Thompson (Mickens); his sisters, Tiguana and Karen; and his son J'Lon.

He is survived by: his wife Frankie (Barnette); his children, Keenan, Marion, Nathaniel, LaPree and Celene; and his siblings, Thomas, Edward, Gregory, Geraldine, Lillian, Melinda and Bernadine. He is also survived by Numerous grandchildren along with a host of relatives and friends.
