He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Sr. Golby and LeAnn Golby (Sloan); and his brother Matthew Golby. He is survived by: his children, Brendan (Leah) of Johnstown and Katie (Steven Hauser) of Greensburg; his grandchildren, Jack and Emma Hauser; and his siblings, Audrey Coshun (Paul Jr.), Constance Solomon (Philip), Karen Golby, Linda Majca (Edward), Timothy Golby and Daniel Golby. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
