He was predeceased by: his parents, Alberta Scott (Henry) and Howard, Sr. Scott; and his brothers, Larry Scott and Howard Scott, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Sandra (Herndon); his children, Dr. Stephon L. Scott (Leslie) of Aberdeen, MD, Adrianna of Albuquerque, NM, Andres of Santa Fe, NM, Reyes of Albuquerque, NM, Sean, Isaiah of Aberdeen, MD, Dr. Yolanda M. Leott of Warren, RI and Donna E. May (David); his grandchildren, Marisa of San Francisco, CA and Trey of Wilmington, DE; his daughter Jacquelyn W. Bell (Jermon); his grandchildren, Dominque and Noelle of Marietta, GA; and his siblings, Geraldine Williams (Alfred) of Portage, MI and Albert (Quaretta Haselrig) of Johnstown, PA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
