She was predeceased by: her parents, Chet Nortum and Florence Nagle Nortum; her son Joseph A. Cherry, Jr.; and her brothers, Robert "Bob" Nortum and Gene "Geno" Nortum.

She is survived by: her husband Joseph A. Cherry; her sons, Stephen Cherry (Rhonda) of Wilcox and Frank Cherry (Luann) of Wilcox; and her brother John "Jack" Nortum (Shirley) of Erie. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren.
