Ron Yost wrote a sympathy message

“I am very sad to see Miss Rippy has passed away. She was a very good teacher and taught lessons on life too. It is hard to believe 57 years ago I was in her class at the Spruce Street Elementary School. Time has gone by since. Of my teachers I think she out lived the other teachers. To be a teacher and live to be a 100 years old is a miracle especially with all the stress from the 60's & 70's. Evelyn Rippy or Miss Rippy was a real teacher ! I am thankful to have had her for my 5th grade teacher.”
