He was predeceased by: his parents, Vivian Rice and Van Rice Sr.; his wife Gertrude Rice; his sisters, Verna and Betty; his half-sister Florence; his granddaughter Jennie Cunningham; and his great great grandchild Ava McAndrew.
He is survived by: his children, Betty Ruggiers (Dave Herrmann) of Ithaca, NY, Bonnie Cunningham (Scott) of Lock Haven, David Rice (Rosa) of Alpine, NY, Judy Crippen (Martin) of Raleigh, NC and Jo Lee Bailey of Jersey Shore. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 16 great-granchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
