He is survived by: his son Robert Merrill, Jr. (Diana) of Jersey Shore; his sister Harriet Smith of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; his sisters-in-law, Elsie Shay and Betty Merrill; his grandchildren, Laurie Merrill of Lock Haven and Nathan Merrill (Jeannette); and his great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Madelyn. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
