He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn K. (Stradley); his parents, Louis R. "Bob" Hostrander and Edith M. Hostrander (Barton); and his brothers, Randolph L. and Robert L. Hostrander.

He is survived by: his children, Douglas E. Hostrander (Amy) and Annette C. Watkins (Joe) of Rauchtown; his grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremiah, Carrie, Renee, Alyssa, Bailey, Samuel and Jacob; his stepgrandchildren, Joey and Alexis; and his great grandchildren, Noah, Liam, Jaxon and Avira.
