Mary Jane Zinn Obituary

Mary Jane Zinn, 81, of Jersey Shore, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Gatehouse.

Born January 14, 1942 in Wheeling, WV, she was a daughter to the late John A. Walton and the former Mary Jane Jacob. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth M. Zinn in 2005. They were united in marriage on February 29, 1964.

Mary Jane honorably served her country as a United States Marine. She graduated from West Liberty College and also graduated with an MBS from Pennsylvania State University. She retired after 22 years as a Spanish teacher at Jersey Shore Area School District. Following her retirement, she worked as a Park Ranger at Glacier National Park and enjoyed traveling the country with her husband in their RV, visiting all 50 states.

She is survived by a son, Roy A. (Audra) Zinn of Royse City, TX; two daughters, Jean Ann (Dave) Flook of Salladasburg and Kendra M. Gallagher of Jersey Shore; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy (Jeff) Jeffries.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, until the time of service at Welker Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Kerry Aucker will officiate. She will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
