He was predeceased by: his parents, Carsten Charles and Dorothy Anderson Ahrens; and his siblings, Leif "Luck" Ahrens and Sigrid Linnea Ahrens. He is survived by: his wife Donna K. Rees; his children, Jill K. Ahrens (Rodney Shenck), Carsten C. Ahrens (Sharon), Hagerstown and Jessica A. Long (Charlotte L. Bierly); and his grandchildren, Kyrsten Ahrens, Chloe Bierly, Erik Long, Quinn Ahrens, Britta Long, Kira Bierly, Ian Ahrens, Rees Bierly and Lucas Ahrens. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
