We are sad to announce that on May 10, 2020 we had to say goodbye to Jean McCarthy formerly of Jermyn, Pennsylvania, born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Jean McCarthy to show support.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Genevieve Martin and Ralph Martin; and her sister Mary McDonough. She is survived by: her children, Patrick McCarthy (Kay), Childs, Nancy Redetzky (Eric) and Thomas McCarthy (Millie); her grandchildren, Brian McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy, Childs, Ian Redetzky of Marietta, GA, Matt Redetzky, Brian Fitzgerald (Lauren), Colleen Slick (Aaron), Brayden Fitzgerald and Victoria Jean Slick; and her sister Carolyn Smith (Ernie). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nephews, and cousins.
The family cannot thank the staff of the Carbondale Nursing Center enough for the care and dedication to Jean and all the residents, especially during this Coronavirus pandemic.
The family would appreciate donations be made to the Carbondale Nursing and Rehab Center's Activities Department, 10 Hart Place, Carbondale, PA 18407 in honor of the Birdhouse Lady.
