He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Gerney and Katherine Gerney (Klimek); and his brother Roger Gerney. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Gerney (Benna); his children, Russell Gerney (Brenda), Mark Gerney (Janis) and Scott Gerney (Dawna); his grandchildren, Abigail, Liam, Ryan, Evan, Nathan and Kayla; his brother Glenn Gerney (Pat); and his sister-in-law Joan Gerney.
