“I just learned of Bill's passing when reading the recent issues of the Penn Gazette. Bill and I had an adventure while midshipman during the summer of 1948. Our training cruise ended in San Francisco and most of our fellow midshipman from Penn were taking the train back to the East Coast. Bill and I decided to do something different - why not visit Yellowstone Nat Park? So we took the train to Salt Lake City and in our uniforms hitch hiked to the Park. Bob McKersie [email protected]”
