He was predeceased by: his parents, Morton Sakers and Elizabeth Sakers; and his siblings, George and Elizabeth "Betty". He is survived by: his wife Virginia Hill-Sakers; his children, David Sakers, Robert Sakers and Diane Allen; and his grandchildren, Robert, Tamie, Heather, Matthew, Nettie, Caitlin, Colgan and Conor. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
