He is survived by: his wife Patricia Makufka Hontz; his children, Richard Hontz, James Hontz (Phaedra) and Carolyn Stacks (Dan); his grandchildren, Chelsea, Alex, Nathaniel and Julian; and his great grandchild Miles.
