He was predeceased by: his wife Barb Simala; and his siblings, Paul "Butch", James, Charles, Joseph, John Simala, Ann Krilosky, Caroline Terrana and Mary Slusarcyk.

He is survived by: his parents, Karol Simala and Mary Palenta Simala; his daughters, Brenda Trettle (John) of Stockdale, Ronda Stephens of Coburn, CO, Trisha Shipley (James) of Allenport and Cari Simpson (Doug) of Roscoe; his grandson Justin Taylor; and his sisters, Cecelia "Sis" Clark (Jay) of Monessen, Charleroi Malarbi of Monessen and Kay Malarbi (Rocco Gene) of Monessen.
