He was predeceased by: his wife Sharon E. Baum (Collare); his parents, Daniel S. Baum and Laura M Baum (Krebs); and his sister Carolyn Miller. He is survived by: his children, Thomas M. Baum, Jr. (Julie) of Lancaster County, Michelle L. Citrone (Michael) of York and Sarah A. Payne (Robert) of Springfield, VA; his grandchildren, Molly, Caroline, Augustine and Jack; and his siblings, Robert Baum and Julia Rebert.
