She was predeceased by: her parents, Clara Young (Higginbotham) and Raymond Young. She is survived by: her brother Raymond Young (Virginia); her daughters, Rita Hennessey (Jim) and Dolores Krystopowicz; and her grandchildren, Julia Hennessey (Kim Trumbull) and Ryan Hennessey (Diego Hernandez).

In lieu of flowers, Rita's wish was donations in her memory be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the SPCA.
