He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Katherine McGaughey (Powell) and John L. McGaughey Sr.; his wife Shirley McGaughey; his children, Teresa McGaughey and Frank McGaughey; his siblings, Rita Alexander, Ruth Leavens and Phil McGaughey; and his grandson Johnny Bowers.
He is survived by: his son John McGaughey III; his wife Debbie McGaughey of Mercer; his sisters, Evelyn Jones of Pennsylvania, Martha Stahl of Texas, June Mottorn of Pennsylvania and Kathy McCown of Florida; and also Charles McGaughey (Phyllis) of Kansas City. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
