He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pierce and Helen Corbitt Pierce; his stepmother Ethel Joanne Pierce; and his brother John Pierce. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Pierce (Sowers); his sons, Larry Pierce (Cindy) of Charleroi, Robert Pierce of Port Orange, FL and James Pierce (Kelly) of Donora; his stepchildren, Tricia Payne (Josh) of Fallowfield Twp and Stephen Sowers (Jessica) of Smithton; his grandchildren, Erica Pierce, Larry John Pierce, Sabrina Pentz (Thatcher), Corey Pierce of James, JJ, Alisha Pierce, Tyler Ulens and Adam Ulens (Caitlin); and his great grandchildren, Mason Pierce, Alexander Pierce, Illiana Pierce and Penny Pentz.
