He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Jackie Walter; his parents, Jack Richter and Betty Coolbaugh Richter; his children, Ashley Whelan (Kevin, Scranton) and Dan Degilio (Ariel Christiano, Old); his grandchildren, Kevin, Patrick, Joseph, Molly, Timothy Whelan and Angela Degilio; his sister-in-law April Walter; and his daughter Jessica. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
