He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick M. Schmidt and Dorothy Schmidt (Webb); and his daughter Sharon E. Ruffing. He is survived by: his wife Joyce E. Schmidt (Hoak); his son Frederick C. Schmidt Jr. (Laurie) of Jefferson Hills; his great grandchildren, Anna, Grace and Olivia Ruffing; and his sisters, Dorothy Ault of Elizabeth Twp and Mary Hoak of Elizabeth Twp. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
