He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Smith; his wife Carol S. Fennel (Poznick); and his siblings, Margaret, Raymond, Jim and Eugene.
He is survived by: his stepfather George Logan; his sons, John Fennel, Jr. of Jeannette, Jim Fennel (Angela) and Jason Fennel (Sarah) of Murrysville; his grandchildren, Miranda Bradshaw (Zach) and Anthony Fennel; and his sisters, Marietta, Georgetta and Priscilla. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
